The Centralina Economic Development District (EDD) conducted its fourth Steering Committee meeting as a hybrid virtual/in-person option to discuss the 2022 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) planning process on July 21, 2022 from 4pm – 6pm.

The Steering Committee received an update from the Talent & Entrepreneurship Working Groups.  The Talent & Workforce group is chaired by Danielle Frazier and Anna London of Charlotte Works and Anna Lu Wilson with Centralina.  The group met July 14 with 47 participants from around the region.  They had an interactive discussion which brought forward three brainstorming themes: Accessibility & Workforce System, Industry & Education Partnerships, Engagement & Collaboration. The next work group meeting will be held August 3rd.

The Entrepreneurship & Innovation working group is chaired by Devin Collins, UNC Charlotte.  The group met with 44 participants on June 23rd.  An interactive brainstorming discussion was held and five key themes emerged: Accessibility, Capital & Funding, Engagement & Collaboration, Industry Partnerships, and Services and Support.  The next work group meeting will be August 11th.
