Population growth often coincides with increased economic growth and prosperity for a metropolitan area, so this statistic is yet another reflection of the strong economy in the Charlotte Metro.  Equally impressive is the population growth among the 25-44 year-old cohort, which increased nearly 2% in 2018. This is nearly double the national average of 1%, and exceeds this population group’s growth among regional competitors like Greenville, Atlanta, and Columbus.
