Located in the Charlotte Region there are over 1,000 international companies from 40 countries. Charlotte’s distribution infrastructure combined with its short distance from major ports enables the region easy access to support the global trade networks. The Charlotte Region continues to attract international company investments, and of the 50 states, North Carolina is one of only nine where international employment exceeds 7% of state workforce.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Charlotte Region continues to achieve progress of the 2017-2022 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy plan; Goal 1: Create and Maintain a Globally Competitive Region, Tactic 2: Attract More Industries to the Region and Tactic 3: Develop the Region’s International Competency.
