Sources and methodology
How status is determined. Each Stanly County value is compared with the weighted Centralina regional value. A Strength indicates a more favorable result for that indicator. An Opportunity identifies an area that may warrant continued attention. Lower values are favorable for measures such as poverty, unemployment, air pollution, commute time and household cost burdens.
Profile years. The 2022, 2024 and 2026 profile years generally correspond with 2015–2019, 2018–2022 and 2020–2024 American Community Survey five-year estimates. Because these periods overlap, small changes should be interpreted cautiously.
