2026 CEDS Annual Report

The Centralina Economic Development District (CEDD) 2026 Annual Report highlights regional progress in implementing the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) across Centralina’s nine-county region. The report showcases key accomplishments, partnerships and initiatives that support the region’s three strategic goals: Economic Opportunity, Infrastructure and Resilience.

Key highlights from the 2026 report include:

• 50 CEDS action items advancing, with six remaining not started.

• Five CEDS alignment letters supporting proposed regional economic development projects.

• Technical assistance for four regional projects, supporting workforce training, entrepreneurship and infrastructure improvements.

• Continued regional collaboration on disaster resilience, infrastructure readiness, workforce development and economic competitiveness.

The report also provides an overview of CEDS implementation progress, highlights regional projects and technical assistance efforts, and outlines ongoing initiatives to strengthen economic competitiveness and prepare communities for future challenges.

Centralina EDD Releases 2025 CEDS Annual Update: Strengthening Workforce, Infrastructure and Regional Readiness

The Centralina Economic Development District (EDD) is proud to share its 2025 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Annual Update, highlighting continued progress toward the region’s “Prosperity for All” vision. Now in the third year of CEDS implementation, Centralina and its partners have accelerated momentum across workforce development, digital opportunity, transportation planning and disaster readiness.

Another Strong Year of Progress

From January through October 2025, the region continued advancing 45 of the 58 CEDS action items, demonstrating strong collaboration and steady movement across all three CEDS goals: Economic Opportunity, Infrastructure and Readiness.

This year’s accomplishments show how Centralina and its partners are turning regional strategies into meaningful, on-the-ground impact.

The Centralina Economic Development District (EDD) is excited to share its 2024 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Annual Update. As the second year of implementation concludes, the region has seen tremendous progress in fostering collaboration and innovation to achieve the “Prosperity for All” vision.

In 2024, 44 of the 58 action items identified in the CEDS have been advanced, reflecting strides in workforce development, digital inclusion, and regional resilience. Highlights include launching a Regional Digital Inclusion Framework to close the broadband gap, expanding mobility options through Connect Beyond, and addressing critical childcare needs through collaborative forums and strategic partnerships.

This year’s accomplishments underscore Centralina’s commitment to creating an inclusive and prosperous future for the nine-county region. With a strong foundation in place, we look forward to continuing this momentum into 2025 and beyond.
